VPOP3 HELP e KNOWLEDGEBASE
- VPOP3 KnowledgeBase (in inglese)
- Spostare VPOP3 su un differente computer
To move VPOP3 to a new PC you should go through the following steps:
- Copy the VPOP3 directory and subdirectories from the old PC to the new PC
- Run RegEdit on the old PC and export the registry branch: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PaulSmith\VPOP3 (see here for instructions)
- Run RegEdit on the new PC and import this registry branch
- Reinstall VPOP3 on the new PC
- If you are using any VPOP3 addins (eg avast! for VPOP3, the VPOP3 FaxServer etc), you should reinstall those on the new PC as well
If the new PC's IP address is different from the old PC's address, you may also have to go around the client computers changing the email client settings to point to the new mail server. You may also need to check the 'IP Address to Bind' to setting on the Services -> General page, and the 'Access Restrictions' on the various Services -> xxxx pages.
If you are changing the directory where VPOP3 is installed (eg from c:\program files\vpop3 to d:\program files\vpop3) then you may also need to change directory settings in VPOP3:
In VPOP3 2.x
- Check the Utilities -> VPOP3 Extensions settings page for any file paths which need changing
- Check the Services -> WebMail/Admin settings page, and check the 'Mail HTML Pages' setting is correct
In VPOP3 1.x
- Check the 'Misc' -> Define VPOP3 Extensions window for any files which need changing
- Check the 'Configure HTTP Admin Server' and 'Configure HTTP Mail Server' windows from the Local Servers tab to see that the HTML page directories are still correct. (These options are only in VPOP3 1.3.4 and later)
